I've been following this case for years and both boards for some time, just never posted (this board seems much more open). BTW, I apologize if this thread is in the wrong spot!
I've read ST and just finished Hot Prowl, neither one or any of the documentaries online/shows/articles etc mentions a prowler jumping over Janelle's backyard wall the night before her murder. was this confirmed? If so, was the guy wearing a mask? If not, is there a composite of the guy from the friends who were in the yard smoking? I know it was dark, but there had to be some description. With the yard being so small, it seems odd that a master cat burglar would hop a wall with a party going on without making certain no one was there (it was a party so I'm sure the guys in the yard were talking or making some sort of noise). Also, shouldn't this have alerted Janelle's friends enough to warn her not to stay in the house alone?
In hot prowl, gray believes that Janelle's murder shows that GSK was aging and rusty because of the break since S/D, thus the ambush and overkill. I've always thought it was because GSK assumed Janelle and her friend would get intimate, he'd watch, then attack after they fell asleep. I think the friend leaving enraged him so much that he couldn't control himself because it ruined his preferred couples scenario. I can just imagine GSK becoming enraged when the friend left, then going ballistic when Janelle returned.
Gray also mentions in Hot Prowl that that at S/D, GSK may have put clothes over Greg Sanchez's face because he felt remorse for beating him so badly? Somehow, I don't think remorse is something this monster is familiar with. I always believed he put clothes and bedding over his victims before bludgeoning so he wouldn't be sprayed by blood. Certainly not because he felt remorse!
