V, if I were you, I'd probably skip it, especially if you already have a nice long reading list.  

There were few real revelations, and they've actually all been discussed here so you can save yourself some time. 

James essentially says none of them knew, which I do believe. He and JJD were roommates before they each married. Says JJD was 'charming' but also made him uncomfortable at times with things he said. Both of his daughters have great memories of Uncle Joe and are devastated.  

Biggest item of interest IMO was the gold bar hidden in the antique oven in the garage. Most likely the remains of all the jewelry Joe stole through the years. No other souvenirs were found by LE. 

That pretty much sums it up, if anyone thinks of something else please chime in.

Think you need Kindle Unlimited tor read for free through Amazon. I have Prime and Amazon still wanted $6.99, then I ended up with a free advance copy, and honestly I'm glad I didn't waste $6.99 on it. That should tell you something!  

The gold bar bit was very interesting.  For now, barring future information or discoveries, it looks like he did perhaps get rid of the old "trophies."  I admit I was wrong on this point: I genuinely thought he'd keep them to his dying day, especially his ONS "trophies."

Agree on your assessment of J.H.'s work.  You want bang for your buck, and it just isn't worth $7 to me.

However strange the breast feeding picture is, I do believe that Sharon Huddle had some extremely strong views on parenting and parental rights, as evidenced by her legal career. She was an attorney/founder with the National Coalition Against Surrogacy in Washington DC, and her focus always seemed to be on protecting women via family law practice. (As strange/ironic as that may be in this context...). There is a lot of evidence that she was a huge supporter of feminism, the “Sacred Bond”, etc

Can someone explain WHY James Huddle would publish fake images? I mean, what's the motivation to create boring, inconsequential images?

If he was going to fake it for profit, wouldn't it have made more sense to show DeAngelo displaying his ski mask collection? Wouldn't he have photo-shopped an image of DeAngelo reading a newspaper with an EAR headline? DeAngelo smiling at the grave of a known victim?

I must be missing something significant about his reason to create fake pictures of his loser brother-in-law in mundane, boring situations.

I can see both feet and both legs. He’s leaning back at an angle and resting on the garage door. Looks perfectly normal to me. The low quality of the image probably muddies it a bit.

I honestly don’t think any of those look edited and I can’t think of a single reason anyone would slightly edit them for a self published book. I think they’re just old pictures.

I don't know if certain that he edited the 2 pics If he did though, the one reason I can think of as to why he may have is that he is just plain an idiot.

I'm quoting myself because my post is awkwardly worded. I think the idea that he made fake pics is ludicrous.

The opening sentence should read

The last sentence should read

While I agree that the idea of Huddle publishing fake images doesn’t make sense, I’ve got to admit - upon closer inspection, a couple of them do look photoshopped or otherwise doctored.

The station wagon, deck, and wedding pictures don’t look nearly as “grainy” (especially around the outlines of DeAngelo, et al) 🙄 as the other photos.

I sort of can’t believe we are even discussing this. Murder inc is right and absolutely nothing was altered in those pics. It makes no sense and they’re simply old grainy photos that were scanned in and probably had their resolution messed with because he paid $100 to someone to make a cover for his small run self published book he doesn’t have a graphics department of a major publisher making sure they all look great.

Back to the portrait, I’m just so floored that it hung on the wall there for all to see. I’m betting it was JJD’s idea to hang it there.

I think he is both dumb and he either didn't consult Sharon or went against her wishes.
Generally I try to stick to speculation but I'm pretty comfortable in saying Sharon didn't and wouldn't want this book to be published or want anything to do with it.

Now that I wrote that ,and in light of what you mentioned Cleo about the nursing photo of Sharon, it occurred to me- what was James' TRUE motivation in releasing this..that's to say what is his relationship REALLY like with his sister?

We have speculated about their pervert father, what's the deal with the siblings?

Did he feel inadequate about his sister becoming an attorney ?
Did she lord it over him?
Were they close growing up or was one "the favorite "?
Was there a socioeconomic difference between them?


You wonder if this was subtle take down?

I've been trying to figure out James angle and motivation for this book (when it's clear other than being related by marriage he has no real connection to JJD and no useful information).

Is it as simple as sibling rivalry and since Sharon married a monster he now has the upper hand?

Those are really good questions.  What popped out to me with this book is how James came off as being proud to be linked to JJD. He mentioned more than once that JJD would introduce him as his brother, not brother in-law, and that they were close.
