You and me both. I wouldn't be crawling though, because I wouldn't even try to cross that bridge. Good point about Abby also walking with her hands in her pockets. If I'm not mistaken that was the first time she crossed the bridge even though she lived very close to it. But it seems to me that her weight, height and youth would think make it far easier for her to cross than BG. Of course I can be wrong but to me, he looks like he's been drinking. Of course that is based on a couple of seconds of movement. And I've heard that it isn't uncommon, that these monsters usually do drink a lot to get liquid courage. Having said that, it would be so much more dangerous for a drunk to try to cross the bridge, but then again drinking takes away inhibitions and fear. I don't think it matters really. I don't think if he was or was not drinking is going to help catch him. My main thing is that I wish they would not limit their thinking to the idea he must be a local.

Yes, I wonder what the girls original intentions were. Did they plan on going down to the creek and decided not to with the creep behind them? Or were they planning on just retracing their steps back across the bridge and were waiting for him to get off the bridge?

I don't think this is the typical run of the mill child rapist we're talking about here. I think we all in the course of researching this case have come across unsubstantiated rumors about what happened that day. Listening to the DTH podcast has kind of confirmed some of these rumors to me. When they speak of the horrific crime scene, about the effect on the tough firefighters. It confirms to me that this isn't some abduction gone wrong, where the girls were killed because BG lost control of them. This was a ritualistic killing, I'm sure there was a sexual element, but that wasn't the driving force.

I also feel, these probably were his first kills. He wasn't skilled, he was lucky and sloppy. He was likely seen by multiple people, he was caught on camera. It was a crime of opportunity. We often think like normal people, like "why would he go to the trails, they weren't really known outside of locals". People like BG, they know where to find secluded locations, they search for these places. I've already stated that I think Libby and Abby are his first kills, I do think he's spent a lot of time stalking for prey. I just don't think the circumstances or opportunity presented its self until that day. I think the urge, and the drive built up so much, that when 2 young girls crossed his path, he took the chance. I don't think BG was hunting for a pair. I think it's widely known that Libby garnered most of his attention, that Abby could've escaped. So he wasn't hunting pairs, it was just the first time opportunity presented itself.

Just an opinion, I could be completely off Mark here.

I don't think the offender necessarily had to be a "child rapist." This case, to me, screams of being a crime of opportunity. The offender may have been just looking for any victim in that secluded area.

That being said, the photo earlier in this thread looks a lot like the composite. I would hope he has already been investigated.

Widely known? I'm not sure I understand unless I missed a rumor or something. I could not be up on all the info, so my apologies.

The details about this case are so vague from what law enforcement has released, I wouldn't mind seeing the sources that make this "widely known".

I'm not going to get into details, mainly because it's all unsubstantiated info. And I don't want to get chastised for it. If you dig deep, use the right keywords, you can find rumors and such. That along with the stuff in the DTH podcast kind of confirm things for me. With the fire chief for instance, about the effects the crime scene had on him and his men. This wasn't some kidnapping gone wrong, there is nothing standard about this. I think it's easy to infer from what Doug Carter has said, the things that have been said on the podcast, and even from the limited info we have that this was a ritualistic killing. That sure, there are sexual elements to it, but sex wasn't the driving force behind this. I think we can discount child molesters and the "standard" rapist. I'm saying this after being gung-ho about the "Pizza Guy" being the one.

I think if/when BG is identified, if he's a local, I think it's going to be shocking who it is. I still maintain that BG isn't a local, and that's why they have nothing. He's a truck driver to me, somehow connected to the local plants. I believe early on a search warrant was served at the Delphi Packers. I imagine they have a piece of evidence connecting the plant to this.

You'd think right? Delphi is not a huge city and we have pictures of this guy..granted they aren't close ups but they give us a good shot of our offender..I'm assuming we do not have any DNA from our offender and thus LE probably has a few key suspects but only circumstantial evidence to go by..but then there's the picture ..surely LE has a few top suspects similar to the one in this thread...

Personally I am not limiting my thinking to what is being told to the public.  I agree with you, it seems logical that with a video of the guy and his voice he would have been recognized if he were local.

I don't think that this was the first time this BG killer/monster killed.  Perhaps he scopes out nature trails to find his victims.  I believe there was advertising for the trails in Delphi and for kayaking Deer Creek.  I believe Delphi was trying to attract people to their nature trails and rivers and creeks. 

This monster could be someone that travels for whatever reason and looks for nature areas like this.   If he isn't dead, then is he offending in other states? Even Canada, Alaska? 

Did he kill 8 year old Elizabeth Collins, and 10 year old, Lyric Cook  in Evansdale, Iowa that were riding their bikes on a trail near Myers Lake June 13, 2012, 5 years before Libby and Abby?  Does he look for little girl victims or does he kill any victim of opportunity? 

I suspect this killer does both - looks for little girl victims AND kills victims of opportunity. 

In this case, I suspect he planned the attack.  Scoped out the area, looked around to see how unpopulated it was, found a spot in advance to where he'd take his victims then looked from the the outside in and inside out to see its visibility by the victims and any passerby, saw all possible escape routes, etc...   I'm sure he was there a day earlier or earlier that day to plan out his attack.

I agree, Pod!  I'm thinking he might have thought the area was more secluded than it was.  He might have been there before when nobody was around.  He could have been spotted by others that were in the area near that time.  Teens hung out in that area, did he not know that?  or is that what brought him there.  I think the former because he needed no witnesses.  Also without the leaves on the trees visibility is good.  Pod Caster Anthony Greeno did a voice test and voices travel far there!  There is a road that goes to the homes on the far side of the bridge.   I think I heard that the son of one of the home owners came home close to the time the girls were murdered.  There was a girl, 'Cheyenne or Shay Anne?" on the bridge that took pictures.  When Libby's father asked flannel shirt guy if he saw anyone.  He said there was a couple, man and woman I believe, under the bridge.   It appears that this villain was just lucky.

I've been thinking that the girls made a break for it and he had another destination in mind.  I've been thinking the shack that is further up the creek, near the creek and in the woods.  Anthony Greeno says that he doesn't believe that would have been possible...not possible to reach the shack by walking in or along side the creek or through the woods and he would have been spotted by homeowners if walking along the private road.  I wonder if he's right about not being able to walk through the woods.  He is local though and has been to the area,  but still I wonder.  What if the girls made a break for it and he had to chase them across the creek where he caught them and killed them.  I think they were not raped but was that his intention that got thwarted?  In February the water would have been very cold, it had been snowing a day or so before and the water I would imagine would have been deeper than in other seasons.

Greeno points out that blue jeans  don't  appear wet, just darker but if the creek was deeper, BG probably would have gotten his jacket and sleeves wet too. Did flannel shirt guy who passed right by BG not notice the guy was muddy or wet? how about his shoes?  Clothes even smell wet and sound wet too when material is rubbing together so maybe Anthony is right about not appearing wet.

LE have neither released info on cause of death nor have they stated if the girls were sexually assaulted.
