I was so blown away by this program on so many levels. I started out wondering why that awful Carole Baskin doesn't stop harassing the Tiger King aka Joe Exotic (aka quite a few other names). Then I start to turn on Joe and think she's right, then I turn back again. Then out of the blue..... wham, it turns out she probably killed her ex husband, What?! This doe eyes, sweet little lady with the flowers in her hair? Then those doe eyes seem crazy and threatening. And two ex's attempted to file restraining orders against her. Then if you google her name and read what she has to say about her life on Wikipedia she appears to be a real not. She also turns out to be a complete hypocrite not to mention a possible killer.
My head got spun in different directions so many times it's surprising I don't have whiplash. One head spinning shocker after the other.
This is still a whodunit even though Joe is in prison. Was he framed? Some info has come out indicating that might be the case. I don't know.
You have to be careful who you listen to. In an interview, Rick Kirkham, the guy he fired and locked out of the office says in an interview that Joe did horrible things like shooting tigers in the head and the place was filthy. He indicates Joe blew up the alligators and all the records that were stored there because they would incriminate him.
The original producer said Joe was devoted to the animals and worked very long hours and the place was very clean and that Joe truly loved his animals. He said the day after Joe fired Rick Kirkham, the records and all the alligators were blown up and burned kind of pointing the finger of suspicion towards a vindictive Rick. The producer believes Joe would never have killed the alligators, they were precious to him especially because they were the offspring of Michael Jackson's alligators.
I don't know. I wonder what others think.
Some in an interview say Joe ran and put his paramedic jacket on before attending to the gal that got her arm chewed off by the tiger. The producer said Joe frequently wore that jacket and had it on, didn't run to put it on, and that he saved that girl's life.
Some say Joe lip-synced to the songs and stole them. He lip-synced to them but apparently he paid for them.
Was Joe set up by the so called hit man, Allen Glover, and the sleaze ball con-man, Jeff Lowe and pay $3,000 to Glover to kill Carole Baskin; or did Joe give the $3000 as severance to get rid of Glover as Joe Claims. Glover made statements that would have probably deemed his testimony tainted by saying how much he hated Joe and how he wished he could do more to harm him. Joe did fire him in front of everyone and humiliate him.
Would Joe tell everyone he met that he wanted Carole dead if he was planning on killing her? Or was Joe actually hoping somebody would take him up on the offer? After all the hate and drama he was spewing towards Carole, if I were him, I'd be praying nothing happened to her. But...we're talking about some strange people so who knows.
Did Carole kill her ex husband who is missing and declared dead. I think yes. There is a lot of incriminating info on that.
