Basic profile and JMO:
Male 30-50 (chance he was an organised, older offender who may have committed other crimes in the past with slightly different MOs).
Probably killed Melanie Hall (otherwise we have two separate offenders in the same night, and 90s Bath was not like 70s California with offenders all over the place).
Average height and generic look (most of the successful long term offenders are for obvious regions).
A mobile, employed offender with a job allowing him to own a vehicle etc (Hall's body dumped 25 miles away by a motorway. Method of attack suggests he doesn't seem to have had too much time/need for recon, which may indicate he had a full time day job).
No serious criminal record (DNA collection is rife in the UK even for minor offences) or was convicted before DNA collection became common place.
Possible he lived outside of Bath (avoided being one of the 2,000 men who were DNA tested - was perhaps a commuter not marauder offender, but with marauder elements - see next point).
Knew the area well so quite possibly used to live or work in Bath as a younger person (much like JJD in relation to RC. Also possible he had family in Bath allowing a reason to be there, or lair to retreat to after attacks - he had the victims drop him back in Bath after taking them away for the attacks).
Married or cohabiting and quite possibly a family man (these guys usually hide behind a mask of respectability, plus the gaps in the crime series may be due to having children ala JJD. Such deeply insecure offenders often like to be seen as relatively successful with women. The attacks and possible Hall murder suggest a man without access to his own completely independent property).
Stopped offending once he hit middle age/the heat got too much (had a certain amount of social prestige/family commitments/more to lose than the typical street punk offender type).
Currently alive and living a quiet life within reasonable driving distance of Bath.
