Yes, I absolutely agree! Drifter could spot misogyny and groupthink a million miles away, and I was so appreciative that he did not tolerate the pathetically weak and cowardly abuse of women here.

A few times I have wanted to post, "Guess what, misogynist? A woman is not causing "drama" by having a differing opinion" --as a few (unnamed) abusive misogynists will cry out as they attempt to rake a woman over the coals here.

Drifter would be all over posters who would pull that abusive BS, and I really greatly admired him for that. He had integrity, and I felt my opinions were respected and valued here.

He was a brave, real man, and a highly intelligent one at that. He is greatly missed, and I am sure that Winters, Richmond, and Elir would love to have him back, too, as part of their moderation team.♥️

Yes, men definitely can be feminists, and women can most definitely be misogynists, too.

I am a female, and it really is an ugly, supremely piercing experience to encounter a fellow female that is supportive of a male or female misogynist's views or is a misogynist herself. It feels not only like a personal betrayal, but an ultimate betrayal to our gender and humanity itself.

Thank you, L4J, for addressing such important issues that often are ignored or go unnoticed, yet can affect other posters in such a significant, adverse way.

Drifter had a Napoleon complex. If you believed in massive conspiracies regarding Law Enforcement then you would get along fine with him. If not he would start telling you “the facts” (according to Drifter). I swear to god, he once tried to scold me for daring to say I hoped someone from this site would eventually crack this case. He let me know “that this site WAS NOT to try and solve this case!” Seriously? What the hell was it ever for then? Why are there pages on pages of case facts, timelines, theories and information on other posters POI? Granted, he did boot some people who deserved to be booted(which is a mods job & shouldn’t deserve praise) but he also stifled a lot of ideas just because he didn’t personally agree. So people got sick of his BS and they quit participating. I know because I was one of them. I’ve also heard the same from dozens of others. Honestly, ask yourself this question. Have you ever experienced a moderator that was more disruptive to the everyday goings on of a site than drifter was? If you said yes-I feel sorry for you. Good riddance

Paige St John doubts he was here.  That may not be good enough for some of you, but I figured if anyone had access to info that would confirm it one way or another, it was her, so I reached to her recently.  She has not heard a thing about it from any of the members of police, DAs offices, etc  she has spoken to. You think if he had been here that at some point the DA or LE would mention it to support their case that he totally knew what he was doing. But no. And there is no suggestion that LE got warrants to access data from proboards.  Yes, someone hinted at something to Kat , but none of it was ever confirmed and people that do have access to info are doubtful.  If the situation changes or we learn something new,  I will let you know.

Thanks Elir. It stands to reason that LE wouldn’t bother with warrants, if they wanted to know what was posted here it was readily accessible to all.

I also believe JJD may have been too paranoid to access the boards. And he would be right to stay away, it would have been taking a risk for him. I still, however, believe there were those who knew and had a good time here baiting the forum. The EAR’s identity was very possibly known for a long time by a very few certain people.

Also, if anyone has a contact in LE that would know might be a good time to ask.

Imagine his wife thinks he’s having an affair and has a PI tail him - that person could have seen or concluded things and started dropping hints. Someone who strongly suspected him and was dropping hints and when he was arrested, got scared. I don’t think it was him, but it was someone with some knowledge of him. Some statements, especially date of birth and address, are too coincidental to be guesses, IMO.

Extremely doubtful, bordering on non-existent. Much more likely there were people who knew darn well they could toy with a forum like this, dropping in meaningless references and theories that were certain to be flamed toward linkage if EAR were ever identified. After all, the paranoia and absurdity were obvious all the way back to the A&E forum, where EAR decided to register under his own monicker. Clever guy

Note the current obsession in tying DeAngelo to every thereabouts murder. Hilarious consensus. There was one guy on Reddit assigning 90% or greater likelihood to every one. That mindset is no different than the consensus that all of those user names were actually EAR. I believe at one point we had a half dozen or more. Look at this damning comment . Here's another one. So obvious? Why didn't we figure it out? CBK could only stand for Creek Bed Killer. That's another 90% sure.

It's the type of thing the 12-26 goofs know darn well is just sitting there available to them. It's like an online version of the OJ jury

Keep in mind this is a hosted forum. If the FBI subpoenaed Proboards Inc., it is quite likely the mods/admins here would never even hear about it. If they were really tracing someone, folks here would probably the last to know.

Also CBK's recorded logout time or etc could only really be explained by Proboard employees, not anyone here.

Glad you have closed the case, but I hope if JJD is ever convicted of even one more crime, that you don't just disappear like the fishermen posters did.

I don't believe DeAngelo's phone/computer internet history has ever been released or even discussed much outside of this sub and reddit. I wonder if it will ever be revealed?

I'm sure more people than those on internet forums want to know what kind of history his hard drive contains--even if to understand what kind of weird sicko he was when he finished browsing the internet and put that towel over his computer.
