I am still very intrigued by the idea that a NPS Ranger was at the Call-Hailey crime scene and at Shenandoah National Park when the Winans-Williams murders occurred. It seems so uncoincidental. So I made a timeline (and forgive me for putting multiple possibly unrelated CPK murders in it - I was just thinking out loud.)

His work history I found on open source research. I noted that although he was a ranger in the 80s-90s in Virginia he chose not to include it in his profile(s). I also found it interesting that his positions at Fish & Wildlife were in fire management (Thomas-Dowksi?).

May 28, 1978 (Sunday) – Jeff Scott/Karen Noble last seen
August 24, 1979 (Friday) – Ricky Beard/Mary Leonard (Akron, OH)
Fall 1979 – John Segar begins at Virginia Tech
Spring 1983 – John Segar graduates from Virginia Tech
August 17, 1984 (Friday) – Mike Margaret/Donna Hall (Henrico Co)
October 9, 1986 (Thursday) – Cathy Thomas/Rebecca Dowski last seen
October 12, 1986 (Sunday) – Cathy Thomas/Rebecca Dowski bodies found
September 20, 1987 (Sunday) - David Knobling/Robin Edwards go missing
September 23, 1987 (Wednesday) - David Knobling/Robin Edwards bodies found
December 4, 1987 (Friday) – Brian Pettinger last seen

March 1990 – John Segar in Williamsburg for NPS function
June 7, 1991 (Friday) – Kevin Potts body found

May 19, 1996 (Sunday) – Lollie Winans/Julie Williams bodies found

If he started college in 1983, he would have been born around 1965. So during the CPK murders he would have been in his early 20s.

Yes, thanks Cleo. I had read that thread. I did also read somewhere that the Williams-Winans dispatcher that gave them a ride was not D'Amico, his wife. Still very interesting.

Would love to see a similar timeline for National Park Service Ranger Clyde Elbert Yee.

Yee was also at the Colonial Parkway in 1986 (and was questioned and polygraphed) and then somehow was one of the lead investigators in the Julie Williams and Lollie Winans case at the Shenandoah National Park in 1996. Wife Elizabeth is also an NPS Ranger.

Clyde Yee has black hair.  His deceased wife was a redhead.

This is a photo of Colonial Parkway NPS staff, including Yee, after returning from fighting fires in Oregon. From reading the article I think the picture was taken on Thursday 17th September. Yee is pictured first on the left.

I’ve always found it suspicious that Yee and the other rangers who were first to arrive at the scene of Cathy’s white
car put their fingerprints and handprints all over the car and the back window of the hatchback immediately.   Then, before even knowing the people inside were dead, they bashed the back window.  As EMTs, they had to know the broken glass would enter wounds and the eyes of the persons inside the vehicle.

Then, Segar handled the clothes and personal belongings of Keith and Sandra, which would explain away any of his fingerprints found on and inside the car or items.

In the picture of Yee, did anyone else notice how muscular he is? He looks like he could easily handle/subdue two young people on his own late at night on the Parkway?
