A few initial thoughts:
(1) A key fact that they got wrong was claiming all 4 crimes were under jurisdiction of the FBI-every other source has claimed a 2/2 split between FBI and VA state police. And that these two failing to work together has lead to delays in investigating the case. Or, this is the only series which got this detail right?
(2) I am now convinced beyond reasonable doubt that single perpetrator was at each crime scene. It's nothing totally new but some of the investigators demonstrated "this is how I would do it" to control both victims with a gun/flashlight. Thinking about this some more, it's very rare in general for there to be multiple perpetrators for this type of crime. Even looking at other types of violent crime, multiple perpetrators is rare (think Eric/Dylan at Columbine . . . and all of the copycats since have missed this key unique detail). The onus is really on those claiming multiple perpetrators to prove it. There's also work in psychology on this-if someone with a revolver is facing 20 people, the 20 people win if they just rush him, but they won't because they're uncertain they'll be one of the six hit.
(3) I'm convinced more than ever that a single perpetrator committed all 4 crimes. The families of Keith and Sandra claiming they would never go to the Parkway to begin with has lost a lot of weight. We don't really know the inner workings of those close to us as we think. And whatever Keith and Sandra may have said, what people say and do is very often a contradiction. There was also a part where the first two sets of murders are hypothesized as the work of a "moral crusader" so if at the third scene Keith and Sandra were forced to undress to fulfill a sexual fantasy, this is a contradiction. To me, that rings very hollow. How often do we find moral crusaders to just be punishing those for whatever they themselves already engage in?
Will add more later. I used up my YouTube TV free trial to view it so I wanted to get this out now before I forget everything because I won't be able to immediately re-watch anytime soon.
