Thank you for this community, website and information on a case that has interested me for 20 years. I’ve read books on the case and have sorted through a lot of information on the site and around the web. As we all have opinions, I have come to a few conclusions that data and information either has or has not been able to convince me otheriwse.
1) If the rapist was so skillfully able to evade the authorities for so long, maybe he was either the authorities or a family member of authorities. He knew the areas all so well. Every facet . He may have been associated with the development of the east area communities or had relatives who lived right in the area where he could escape to. But he knew with confidence how to escape with utmost hubris which tells me he was living there and had spent a lot of time. That’s a given. But why the hubris and confidence. Why did he stay around so long waiting at scenes eating , drinking and pacing?would he wait for someone to signal to meet him—did he have parents or a wife or a relative he lived with who thought he was at a night job and should he return at inconsistent hours would be a red flag?
2) there was never any mention of suspects who fit the profile walking with women. Could he have a female counterpart who walked with him or run with him during light hours as he was casing areas? Maybe a mother he walked with- a girlfriend, relative or twisted female accomplice ? How did he blend in so well? His cover was too strong and his insistence on speaking with clenched teeth doesn’t support imo the idea that he was a foreignor. But rather that he was extremely protective of his identity since he would be recognized. He was known in the community or Sacramento at least .
3) the town hall of 500 people. Do you think he came alone? Knowing him or them, I think going alone is too risky. He runs the risk that someone could ask him a question , ask for Id or a victim identifying him. He would attend alone if he was a cop, or someone who went with a female but doubtful imo that he would go alone . If he did , he would have been in th back of room and entered late once he felt anonymous imo. Why did the police not take everyone’s name who entered
Just thoughts that have always remained unanswered ...
