There was more to this post, but I am remembering it the best I can. I seem to remember there was more ranting against the police. I saved it in the day on an old computer that has since died. So some of this is paraphrased and I cleaned up some of his spelling. He had some of the same misspellings that Rader had in his known letters. Rader had also used the term "taxpayers" in some of his letters.

At the time of the post, my thought was, "WTF-gee, grumpy old man!" No clue at all that it might be from BTK. Then BTK gets caught, and we learn about his obsessions in his Park City Compliance Officer work. He had also been ticketed by Wichita Police at some point and was bitter about not being able to get a police job. That's when I went back and found the post and saved it (at least for a while). You be the judge. It made a hell of an impression on me at the time.

That is downright creepy warren. That sounds about like something BTK would say, now knowing his occupational background and how anal he was. Scary thing this anonymous internet. I shudder to think how many people gave personal information about themselves and their POIs to lufttec believing he was actually LE.

Tom Voigt owned the catchBTK site (before he set up the zodiackiller one) but I don't think he was involved in the Kansas site.

I think you can still find the catchBTK archives online somewhere, although it may have been removed by now.

Ah, got it.
I was a lurker on that site for quite a while. I was never very sure of the value of it until rader was caught. Some of the stuff on the board was way out there. But the fact that his last two victims (non canonical) were pegged as his on the board completely changed my mind.
Your interaction just completely creeps me out. He is so much creepier and revolting than I could have ever thought especially because he was so ordinary. I had read that he posted but thought it was bunk until I read your post. Yeah that really sounds like what I think he would post.
On a side note: Do you remember a poster who always signed her/his posts with "Peace" or "Peace out"?

Vaguely. There were so many creepy ones on there that about six were swabbed by the police. Another one was "Pepsiplease", who had weird postings. Of course, a lot, if not all of them we thought were from BTK obviously weren't.

At one point, a rumor on the board started, first that I was BTK, then I was BTK's lawyer and had a picture of him (this all being before he was caught). I was blissfully unaware of it because it originated in the middle of the night, generated a lot of posts, which all got deleted by the next morning. I had a lot of notifications in my in-box the next morning cluing me in. For a while I thought I was going to be in for a good swabbing! Its one of those things that took on a life of its own and then quickly died out. I don't think the real BTK had anything at all to do with it, nor was it related in any way to that creepy post I cited above.

Trying to be as accurate as my memory will let me, I think it may have been in the creepy post - "MOW YOUR DAMN LAWNS", and I think he also ranted about Cops setting up "speed-traps". The use of the words "Police Chief" were also in some of his known letters, as was his inordinate concern for the "Taxpayers".

Actually, the peace out guy was really bright and interesting. Some of those people were really paranoid. I do remember every other day them accusing another poster of being him. I think it was just boredom in between breaking new. So if your not btk...who are you? Do you like cyphers???

Super creepy! Man, that's a bummer you don't have access to it anymore.

His board had some credibility but it all went out the window when he made Gaikowski the sole focus. Most ludicrous theory ever whose only proponent was a homeless and mentally ill vagabond that compiled his suspicions with crayon.

Prior to that he was so stuck on the Leigh Allen train that he posited Allen used the excised phalanges of unknown victims to leave misleading prints on Stines cab.

He was constantly bickering with and talking smack about other well known Zodiac web masters. It wasn't a good idea to disagree with him, either. You would have trained attack animals blowing up your inbox with one threat or another.

In order to administer a site like this requires restraint and a bit of detachment. Like God, if it's done right, you'll never even know he's there. This doesn't mean uninvolved, it just can't be a personal fiefdom built for the purpose of advocacy of a point of view.

This forum strikes that balance specifically because the moderation is on point and dispassionate.
