Attack #13

There were so many potential witness sightings before the actual attack and the neighbor even seeing EAR as he fled from the victim's home between 0730 and 0800Hrs. They all shared the offender appeared to be in early 20's. But the one that got my attention the most was the couple who a few weeks before the attack saw 3 Sheriff Patrol vehicles turning from Heathcliff onto Northbound Crestview as they pulled a way they saw a 5'9 tall dressed in all black with a ski mask person step out from the bushes in the middle of a front yard on the northeast corner of Heathcliff and Crestview he ignored the couple who had just been walking around the neighborhood and stood in the open with his hands on hips and watched the patrol cars depart. Did they call Sheriff? Of course not. What the hell??? There is much more information that was gleaned on the neighborhood canvas in addition to this little gem.  This was weeks before the attack and another indication of how much prowling and surveilling EAR did also it demonstrates how EAR performed nighttime operations as we know but attack #13 was also an attack where EAR had entered the victim's home pre-attack (Daytime operation) and she had reported it to the sheriff who took a report. On the day of the assault, no fewer than four different neighbors reported seeing a man leaving the area of the victim's home without a mask!! Without a mask!!!  Just so it's clear without a mask!. Where are the offender drawings? Why is there nothing? This was in daylight that these sightings took place.

This one is also where EAR was reported to have climbed fence into the cement lined ditch behind the housing area. It was a reason I believe he was there it felt like Rancho to him with his safety zone of the ditch to flee from.

The little area in Crestview is very much alike the Dawes./ Dolecetto area with the paved canals running right by , or behind the victims homes. Another area which fits in this same kind of theme is Goleta ! I've walked all three areas , Rancho , Crestview, and Goleta, and there are so many similarities!!

I think this attack is also important given the timeframe. This attack happened at 6:45 in the morning (or around that time) on a Tuesday. When he attacked Jane Carson (number 5), that occurred on a Monday at 6:30-7:00 in the morning. Both locations happened in Citrus Heights. To me, considering the possible age of the EAR, he could be attacking so early in the morning, and then possibly head to school, whether that's high school or college. I bet he lives very close to the area. Since these attacks were in the beginning stages of his activity, I bet he was more than likely trying to find which way to juggle his desire/school where it would best suit him.

How does attack #5 and attack #9 compare as far as location? I believe he told victim #9 that he had to wait for his parents to leave before he could go home except instead of being 06:30 hours the time was close to 18:30 hours if I'm not mistaken.

The EAR always had an air of confidence about him anytime a victim picked up a telephone. Not because he knew the line had been cut because it had not in the few instances I am referring to. I'm talking about the victims who were using a working telephone and whomever they called just never answered. IMO the EAR knew no one would answer but I don't know how he knew. The EAR was too comfortable in his victim's homes. Not the least bit worried that the police could show up at any minute. Why did the majority of criminals worry and plan to get in and get out? The EAR was the opposite. He would settle in, relax, eat, watch tv, rummage around, stand in the back yard and drink beer. But not worried. Why?

That's a good question. I honestly don't know. Didn't that attack happen sometime after 7:00 p.m.? I don't even know why he didn't rape her to begin with. Likewise, I'm not sure why he removed her from the home to begin with (some say he was trying to pull a Beth Snelling, assuming he's VR). I mean, he said "this is working right," or something to that effect. I'm curious if he really did choose the wrong victim on accident since he questioned her about American River College, and she told him she didn't go there, but her neighbor actually did. With that being said, I personally think it makes sense that he lives or goes to school either in Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova or Carmichael. He was young (I believe) when he started offending. He had to attack (in my opinion) where he felt comfortable enough to escape thoroughly.

In some instances it almost seems like he is just trying to kill some time,until he leaves the victims homes,like he was waiting for someone to leave,where he was heading to,or living at.

I'm no expert but I have tried to understand what he was doing by spending so much time in the victims home. The best I can figure is all of what he is doing is for control. He is the boss there with his victims bound. He makes the rules. All of the rules of society and even rules that he may have been taught to follow are now out the window. This is his time to wallow in the power he feels as he gives society and its rules the middle finger.

I think the looking through the victim's property is a major part of his MO and is a necessary portion of his release and fantasy. There seems to be a power and control element that the victim can hold no secret from him and he wants them to think he knows everything about them. I also think there may be an element of jealousy a happy family, a happy woman living a happy middle to upper-class life that has eluded him in his own life and he needs to remove the victim's feeling of happiness and feeling of safety directing their life in a direction of chaos that he may have on a daily basis. He may want others to suffer and worry as he has done either in his past or at that time and it angers him to see happy well-adjusted people living in a life that he feels they do not deserve. The middle to upper-income element has always made me think he had a dislike to a hate for those who lived in what he would consider privileged and undeserving fashion. My opinion only.

This particular attack has me rethinking (again) the possibility EAR had an accomplish (male). I am working on a profile for this attack and will post it when I am done tomorrow.

I recalled it when I was in the area last night. It's dark out there in that area at night just like Rancho the street realizes on porch lights from homes to light the area and many are still not using them.
